THEawards15

In addition to being shortlisted for the Duke of York Award for University Entrepreneurship, we've received the exciting news that we have also been shortlisted for the Times Higher Education Entrepreneurial University of the Year 2015!

The University of Leeds, amongst a list of other excellent institutions, is the only University to be shortlisted for both awards; for this we feel very proud! To be shortlisted for not just one, but two of these prestigious awards shows that we are leading the way in enterprise in universities: offering a great range of quality services, both academic and practical, to our students, graduates, staff and businesses that are constantly being reviewed, developed, and improved.

This is evident not just by these University awards but individual recognition with Kairen Skelley, Head of Business Start Up for the University of Leeds SPARK, being shortlisted for the National Enterprise Educators 2015 Award. A huge congratulations to Kairen, a most well deserved acknowledgement for all the many amazing University of Leeds student and graduate businesses, that have been helped by SPARK. This follows hot on the heels of Professor Nigel Lockett's National Teaching Fellow award for outstanding contribution to enterprise in higher education.

The results will be announced for the Duke of York Award for University Entrepreneurship and the THE Entrepreneurial University of the Year on the 10th November and 26th November, respectively. Being awarded these awards, would be, of course, the icing on the cake.
