A welcome to our new Enterprise Students - 2024

We were delighted to welcome our new Enterprise Students from across the University of Leeds, to our first Networking Event of the year!

Associate Professor Richard Tunstall led the evening and was joined by Professor Diane Holt, Dr Lee Wainwright, Dr Deema Refai and Dr Stefania Romano, from our Centre for Enterprise and Entrepreneurship Studies.

We had fantastic presentations from Mrittika Paul and her team from: the Leeds Entrepreneur Society, Oscar Wills from Enactus Leeds, Josie Batley on Digital Education in Helix and Sophie Turner from Spark.  Followed by some excellent introductions from our Enterprise Ambassadors, Louisa Henry and Sam Taylor, which I'm sure were inspirational for our budding Enterprise students!

Attendees had guided tours of Helix, 'our exceptional Digital Education Centre. Snacks, drinks, along with a game, which helped everyone mingle .... with plenty of pizza to complete the evening!

Lots of Networking, and all in all it was great to meet everyone!'

"I recently had the pleasure of attending HELIX's recent Network & Nibbles event, which presented my team and I with a wonderful opportunity to convey Enactus' mission to a whole group of students with a keen eye for entrepreneurship. The HELIX, Spark, Enterprise at Leeds teams are all wonderful people that have a strong ambition to help support whoever they can- if you have not yet come across these groups and have an interest in what they do, I strongly urge you to take part!"

Mrittika not only joined our Network & Nibbles Event, but extended the evening with an Entrepreneur Society event:

“The Leeds entrepreneur society held their give it a go in collaboration with Network and Nibbles on 15th October. We had an amazing turnout with over 75 + people in attendance! Our event started out with a brief description of the society, our goals, motives and future, followed by a talk from SPARK -Sophie and Richard, and lastly, we had a speaker from Helix. The night ended with some food, tours of Helix and a fun and interactive Q&A."
