Dr Richard Tunstall and Doctoral student Kautsar Ramli attended the USASBE Conference in Hollywood, Los Angeles, California in January.

Kautsar took part in the doctoral consortium, focusing on advances in entrepreneurship education and research coordinated by former Visiting Professor at Leeds, Professor Luke Pittaway (Ohio University). During the workshop Richard led a session on assessment in entrepreneurship education with Professor Christoph Winkler (Iona College, New York).

During the conference, Kautsar presented her research on the experiences of Bumiputra entrepreneurs in Malaysia, while Richard presented early results on a study of the motivations and expectations of students applying for With Enterprise programmes in a diverse range of faculties at Leeds.

The conference further focussed on entrepreneurship education innovation and startup programmes. Richard took part in a workshop focussing on the future of entrepreneurship education, led by Babson College. Later Richard presented on the innovations in entrepreneurship education at Leeds and how With Enterprise programmes are embedded into a range of subjects, supported by the wider enterprise ecosystem.

The conference was summarised by an artist-in-residence and this full pictoral overview can be found here: http://c.ymcdn.com/sites/www.usasbe.org/resource/resmgr/conference_2018/Visual_Thank_You.pdf

The conference led to a number of new connections to further develop entrepreneurship education and research at Leeds with plans for further collaboration around entrepreneurial education motivation and learning as well as research into the role of entrepreneurs-in-residence in entrepreneurship education which Richard is pursuing over the next three years.
