Budding entrepreneurs undertaking the Small Business Growth module as part of their Master’s studies (LUBS5536M) were recently joined by Nina Aggarwal, Global MD of Fusion Learning.

Nina is one of LUBS’ Enterprise Ambassadors - an integral part of our vibrant enterprise community who regularly share their experiences and offer their unique insights into the world of business. The programme was awarded Exemplar status by the Small Business Charter in 2021. This visit is one of several offered to students on the Small Business Growth module to help them prepare for their upcoming live consultancy project with local businesses.

During the seminar, Nina, as one of the founders of Fusion Learning, delivered a brief overview of the company’s history and its acquisition by Home, as well as her own business background. She then led a fruitful interactive discussion around how a merged or acquired small business such as her own can bring together two cultures to maximise success and speed up growth. Students broke off into groups considering reputation, values, fulfilment, profit, and relationships before reconvening for a final group discussion.

Module leader, Dr Richard Tunstall, said “Our students are very fortunate to be able to take advantage of the fantastic benefits of our nationally recognised Enterprise Ambassador programme and it was clear today the potential for mutual learning when you bring top entrepreneurs and bright students together to work on the future of entrepreneurship’.
