In association with the Association of Business Schools (ABS) Professor Nigel Lockett and colleagues from Leeds University Business School hosted a mentoring workshop on Wednesday 11 February focused on the Small Business Charter.

As Leeds is a Gold Award holder, the objective of the workshop was to illustrate good practice in relation to Charter Award evidence and impacts, aimed at Business Schools who are looking to apply, reapply or upgrade. Over 20 UK Business Schools were represented at the session.

Professor Nigel Lockett said: “It was a great privilege for Leeds to be invited to host this workshop, proof of our excellent reputation of supporting small businesses. It was also an excellent opportunity to network with representatives from other UK Business Schools.”

Ian McNaught, Executive Director of the Small Business Charter, said: “The Leeds team’s preparation, professionalism and enthusiasm were instrumental in making the mentoring workshop successful. We had a strong business school attendance and an engaged audience. The content had a good balance of objectivity and I particularly enjoyed the ‘meet the assessor’ slot. The attendee feedback has been overwhelmingly positive.”
