Dean Bolton-Grant

With more than a decade at the helm of Grant Horticulture and Urban Grow UK, Dean Bolton-Grant combines entrepreneurial drive with horticultural expertise and design innovation. He trained at Kingston Maurward College and Leeds Beckett University, and his early career included working under Raymond Blanc at Le Manoir, gardening for the Queen of Denmark, and managing historic landscapes in Malta. These experiences gave him international insight and prepared him to establish Grant Horticulture in 2013.

Since then, Dean has grown Grant Horticulture into an award-winning practice that delivers garden design, build, and maintenance across Yorkshire and Europe. In July 2025 the company was awarded Gold at the RHS Wentworth Woodhouse Flower Show for its garden design and creation of a long border. His signature style is shaped by structural planting, European influences, and a strong appreciation for seasonality. This design philosophy now supports a wide-ranging service that includes consultancy, learning, and landscape management.

In 2022 Dean expanded his vision by acquiring and relaunching Urban Grow UK, an online retailer of design-led garden furniture and accessories. Alongside his commercial ventures, he also founded the Northern School of Gardening to inspire, educate, and nurture future horticultural talent.
